Ignore the crappy photo, the Mouse is miraculously in bed before 12:30am (maybe our 9 month sleep regression is done?!?), so I’m having to move as quickly as possible in order to get anything done, and I’ve already wasted a precious thirty minutes having a hot bath and finishing my book.
Side-note: I just finished In Arabian Nights, by Tahir Shah. It’s really good. If the Mouse is in bed by a reasonable hour tomorrow, I might just tell you a little about it.
This cozy little corner was assembled using an Ikea shelf, pot lid holder, some ugly ceramic dogs and candleholder and some dollar store art supplies. It came together really nicely, didn’t it.
The dogs and candle holder were picked up at our local Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Thrift Store, and repainted by myself. I’ve also painted an elephant, and need to find a nice home for him. I love finding these ugly ceramic creatures and dressing them up, where they’re ugly but by dressing them up you discover they’re beautiful inside and out. It’s kind of like an arts and crafts version of “She’s All That.”
I think the next time we’re in town I’ll drag Mr. L to the Ikea and pick up another pot lid holder to store more of the Mouse’s books. They multiply like rabbits!
